Community Input
Community consultation is an important component of the Flood Study. The local knowledge of residents and business operators personal experiences of flooding are an important source of information. We are specifically interested in historical records of flooding such as photographs, flood marks or observations that residents may have.
There are a number of ways you can be involved in the study:
- Please take a few minutes of your time to complete the questionnaire mailed out to residents. If you did not receive a questionnaire, you can download it here, or contact WMAwater directly with information . This will greatly assist in collating peoples knowledge and experience about previous flooding history and existing flood problem areas.
- A Community Working Group will be formed from self-nominated community representations (please contact Council if you would like to be involved with this Working Group). The working group will act as a forum for the discussion of technical, economic and environmental issues in an advisory role to Council.
- This website has been established to keep the community informed on the study progress. Community members can email WMAwater or mail their views and comments to WMA Water so they can be considered during the course of the study
Do you have any photos or video of flooding?
- Your information about previous flooding, including photos and video, is highly valuable in understanding flooding behaviour and potential flood risk to residents.
- Photos and video can be emailed directly to Rhys Hardwick Jones or posted to WMA Water, Level 2, 160 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
